Who’s The Betting Favorite To Replace Pat Sajak On ‘Wheel of Fortune?’
New York Post ^ | Jun 14, 2023 | Josh Sorokach

The longtime host of the beloved game show recently announced he was stepping away on social media. “Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” Sajak wrote. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months.”

Sajak will continue working on the series as a consultant over the next three seasons, but intrigue abounds as Fortune fanatics ponder his possible successor. Online sportsbook Bovada has gambling odds posted on the next Wheel of Fortune host, with Ryan Seacrest the current frontrunner at +200 (2-1). While the former Live with Kelly and Ryan star is reportedly in talks to replace Sajak, Bovada’s odds (as of June 14 at 12:00 p.m. ET) offer an array of interesting options. Let’s take a look, shall we?

I love Steven Wright, but I haven’t seen him around in years.

“Some female “of color” to be named later.”

The producers must think of the show’s audience. It and Jeopardy have large audiences made up, I think, of more conservative or should I say mature, people.

Would they lose a lot of that audience to pick up people that would like such a host?

“just like they did with JEOPARDY.”

Are you referring to Jeopardy’s inclusion of more exotic contestants or their selection of hosts?

I hope they ‘steal’ Mayim Bialik away from Jeopardy! I cannot stand her. Worst host ever!

Pat is pretty conservative, it would be nice if he had a say in who gets picked.

Could be that if Vanna also retires then Maggie Sajak would be a natural replacement.

I'm thinking Vanna will also go away. Her job is useless anyhow with the computer controlled letter board. Maggie could take over her dad's job.

"Sajak's appeal was that the show wasn't about him."

You're correct about 98%. But Pat's little low-key one-liners are one of my favorite "things" on the show. Whether rehearsed (not sure how they could do that), or they just roll naturally out of his mouth...he cracks me up. That will be difficult to replace.

I was hoping Al Sharpton would be the new Jeopardy host, but maybe he can host Wheel of Fortune instead.

That slob would have to host the show in a wheelchair. She has a face that would chase a scarecrow out of a cornfield, too.

You would have a more well read and literate audience for those shows. And the audience isn’t interested in politics. They watch those shows to escape that shyt. So I expect them to hire someone from The View.

The only interest I have in Wheel of Fortune is when it's featured in the many "Stupid Game Show Answers" videos that one can find on youtube.

One of my favorites is "Fish Love" when the correct answer was "Wish List". Another favorite is "An Ace of Kidneys" for "An Act of Kindness"
