I never saw the movie, but Gene Tierney is ALWAYS worth watching. Rex Harrison didn’t deserve her.

Poor old girl finally finds a man she loves and he is dead. If I recall Edward Mulhaire made a living playing roles originally for Red Harrison (Henry Higgins, and Captain Gray)

What a rake Sanders was, in real life too. Heard his suicide note said, “So long suckers”

Guess I couldn’t get past the title and Natalie Wood never did much for me.
I always like George Sanders - he killed himself? Never knew that.
I always thought Rex Harrison was a wild card - maybe good, maybe not.
Didn’t know that much about Gene Tierney.

Well, fiddle de dee! Thought it strange Mr. Turner had
not pulled this from the reaches of the public. My bad,
too much excitement over viewing possibilities.

Do remember hearing at the time George felt life was
boring and there was little left to look forward to.
He was such a slime in this movie. There after, didn’
care too much in seeing him in other flicks.

I guess I liked George Sanders in Hitchcock’s “Foreign Correspondent”. He always came across to me like he was not impressed with all the “Big Deal” around him. That appeals to me.

Would have loved to have watched it again. It was awesome! Tierny was enchanting, Harrison an outstanding ghost and Sanders the best cad, ever.
It so happens I watched your Day of the Triffids a few days ago.

“They did a tv series later.”
That’s what I’m more familiar with. I use to watch it weekly. I saw an old clip of it where Harry Nilsson played a visitor. He strummed a guitar and sang ‘Without Her.’

Great movie. Lovely Gene Tierney. Pairs well with
Portrait of Jenny.
