Two men have been killed and three others were injured in a mass shooting at a Chicago Father's Day celebration.
Gunfire broke out at a gathering in the Roseland neighborhood near West 99th Street and South Princeton Avenue just before 8pm.
A 37-year-old man was shot in his head and a 33-year-old man was shot in the neck, and both men died from their injuries, according to police.
Another 27-year-old man is in critical condition after he was blasted in the buttocks and shoulder, while a 19-year-old and 25-year-old were also shot but are in stable condition.
It comes after at least 48 people were shot, eight of them fatally, in shootings across Chicago this weekend.
A Father's Day event, which is a decades-long neighborhood tradition, was taking place in Roseland before the violence began.
An altercation started at the park barbeque before a car pulled up and someone inside opened fire. There was no word on what led to the disagreement.
All of the victims were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and Roseland and Christ hospitals.
One man, who wanted to remain anonymous, claimed he heard around 100 shots and said: 'That wasn't no handgun.'
A woman, who did not want to be identified, said she heard the shots and it sent her and her family ducking for cover.
Resident Michael Henry described what he heard from a relative who lives on the block where the shooting happened.

The actual scary part to me is that there are literally HUNDREDS of people who have murdered another human being walking around the streets of Chicago. almost none of these are ever “solved”.
And to think that many of them have committed their first murder before they’re 20 is astounding.

Chicago and similar can’t have more than one person without a shooting happening. Holidays and birthdays are a guarantee. Yesterday was Father’s Day, today is Juneteenth and the 4th is in two weeks, so just one long party.
