No, his “grandmother” (actually one of his grandfather’s other wives) didn’t say she was there when he was born, or that he was born in Mombasa (far from their village). Those were things that the interviewer was trying to get her to say and claimed that she did say.
But his autobiography claimed he was born in Kenya.
