Ryan Seacrest has yet another job to take on.
Seacrest has been named the new host of “Wheel of Fortune” following Pat Sajak’s retirement, The Post has confirmed.
Along with being the new host, Seacrest, 48, will also serve as a consulting producer on the show, according to a statement from Sony on Tuesday.
“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest said in a statement. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.
“Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease,” he added. “I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this transition.”
Seacrest added that one of his first jobs was hosting a game show called “Click” for Merv Griffin about 25 years ago, so this opportunity is “truly a full circle moment for me.”
Sajak, 76, said two weeks ago that he would be retiring after 41 years and that the next season of the beloved game show will be his last.
Sajak has hosted “Wheel” since 1981, while Vanna White, 66, joined the show a year later as the iconic letter-turner.

Seacrest it not likable but this probably makes sense as an evolution of the show.
There’s only one Pat Sajak but the choice has been made.
I think he’ll be okay with it. That spot seems to be something meant for a man, vs a woman.
Seacrest will be a better fit doing this than he was with ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’. That wasn’t his nature. Somehow he got roped into the duty. The few times I watched it, he seemed uncomfortable/ annoyed by Kelly his co-host.
Vanna says she ‘might’ consider staying on if she gets a big raise. I say, take the money you have, Vanna, and go home.
They need a younger gal in that spot. The producers know it, but also knew Vanna would cry ‘Age Discrimination & Sexism!’
if they replaced her. Vanna will always be linked to Pat Sajak; sort of like George & Martha Washington.
Never heard of Seacrest, but Wheel of Fortune is one of the wife’s favorite slots...
In fact, just this morning she spent about 30-min on one...
Don’t know how she’ll take this Sajak retirement news...
She is 83 and will probably be pissed that Sajak quit at such a young age...
He’ll be good. He was pretty good on American idol bringing in 30+ million viewers each showing.

He's the former host of Live With Kelly and Ryan and the guy who took over for Dick Clark on New Year's Rockin' Eve.
I have always found him unlikable. (Unlike Pat Sajak.) Leaves me cold.

Pat was a weatherman in LA when Merv Griffin spotted him and said he would make a good game show host.

When Pat was ill and in the hospital and Vanna had to fill in for a week or two as host, they got Maggie Sajak, Pat's daughter, to be the letter girl.
I’m glad I’ve only wasted a minute or two in my whole life watching that dumb show.
