Vax or no vax, struggling against the rip tide is a death sentence. You need to get control of your mind, relax, tamp down panic and let the water flow take you out away from land. You can float, go left or right 50 or 100 yards, then let the water flow carry you back to the beach. That, of course, is far easier said than done. Sheer panic usually sets in and takes the poor soul.
