This is abnormal. The only time it really even approaches this appearance is fog or mist, and this isn't that.

I've lived in the northeast my entire life... I've never seen anything like this either. It was
incredibly smoky yesterday in NW Connecticut.
This Canadian wildfire smoke traveling down to the US has been going on for about a month at least, I believe...
