She is very lucky. 174F is the temp after the water comes out of the spring and cools down. We live near Yellowstone and heat our home with a hot spring where the water temp at the source can spike up to 300F. Yes, hotter than boiling!

Yellowstone hot springs are definitely not to be messed with. They can be very acidic as well, and will dissolve a body in a very short time.
Example from 2016

I set my oven meat thermometer at 174 degrees F to make sure chicken is thoroughly cooked.
This person doesn’t have the sense God gave a chicken breast.

Hearing about it more often. 30 years ago you would have not had a chance to hear about or see this.

The steam rising off of the water might have been a clue, even from a distance.

In a way we are getting dumber because safety regulations and excellent health care allow many of them to survive their most egregious feats of stupidity and live on to pass their stupid genes on the more generations.
Idiocracy wasn’t fiction. It was prophesy.

That video could only have been funnier if she ran headlong from the pool straight into a grazing bison.

“Stupid is supposed to hurt.” Calling her hapless is being kind; she’s “more stupider “ than a regular moron. (The “more stupider “ is in quotes for those in Rio Linda that don’t understand SARCASM. They don’t know the difference 🤣)

The book, “Death in (at) Yellowstone,” has several cases as I recall of people being parboiled in the hot springs. Horrible.
I would bet the person is a Chinese national. The last time I went to Yellowstone (several years ago) is the last time I will go to Yellowstone. We couldn’t see Old Faithful for all the HUNDREDS of Chinese tourists who came up and stood in front of us, around us, behind us, practically in our laps. These people had no decency, sense of space, or any regard for anyone else AT ALL. Practically inhuman...

She questioned authority, had to find out for herself, and did. Could have easily held her hand above the water to begin to feel the heat.

Too bad they didn’t both jump in for a swim.
Some of us have bred generations too stupid to live. Those gene pools need to end for the good of us all.
