Its almost 8pm here in San Antonio Texas area. Have heard no fire works yet, but its not dark yet. Weather has been such that maybe all the fireworks went off spontaneously earlier during heat of day.

I live in the country and what is sad is that kids don’t pop firecrackers anymore. Not a peep for years. As a kid, we dreamed of different ways to blow up crap. But for the locals, daddy will go down and buy $300 worth of mortars and set them off until midnight.

We’re 20-30 minutes north of Austin in Williamson County. Heard quite a few late last night, but it’s been quieter than I recall in the five summers we’ve been here. To be fair, the early high temperatures in June (many 100+ degree days) and the lack of rainfall here in Central Texas has exacerbated the fire danger with dry trees, shrubs, and weeds.

I’m on the coast south of Houston. Stocked up on Tramadol for the dogs and have yet to hear a single firework, weekend included.

Neighborhood started well before dark.... just dusk and they’re blasting all over the place already.
