TAKOMA PARK, Maryland (LifeSiteNews) — An 83-year-old pro-life woman was physically attacked by a much younger woman as she prayerfully protested outside an abortion facility in a suburb of Washington, D.C.
The unprovoked, brutal assault on Olga Fairfax occurred at a busy intersection on Saturday morning, July 8, in front of a Takoma Park office building housing the Silver Spring Gynecology and Family Planning. This business offers medical and surgical abortions.
Longtime pro-life warrior Olga Fairfax had stationed herself and her 4’ x 6’ sign depicting an aborted child when, despite heavy traffic, a woman stopped her car in the road, jumped out, and proceeded to land one blow after another relentlessly on Fairfax’s body.
Wielding a can of black enamel spray paint, the woman then tussled with Fairfax in an attempt to obscure the aborted child’s image, managing to spray the octogenarian’s clothing and skin in the process.
Fairfax screamed, “Save me, Save me! Stop, Stop!” and “Call the police!” but passersby continued on their way to shops and a Starbucks next door.
The woman then wrenched the sign out of Fairfax’s hand and tossed it into the street at the crossroads of New Hampshire Avenue and University Boulevard.
A man driving by stopped to assist Fairfax and eventually calmed her attacker.
Fairfax told LifeSiteNews that she’s still sore four days later after having been beaten on her upper body, arms, and hands.
“This was elder abuse,” said Fairfax.
“For fifty years I’ve been in this war. Before this war is over, we ourselves will see our blood spilled on the sidewalk,” she predicted. “It’s a war: God against Satan, good against evil.”
“I don’t know her name, but I put my attacker on my prayer list right away,” she added.
Fairfax’s grassroots pro-life credentials are stunning. She has counseled at four crisis pregnancy centers in Maryland over the course of five decades and helped launch the first pregnancy center in America in nearby College Park, home to the University of Maryland.

Two members of the Knights of Columbus who were praying the Rosary about a block away from where Fairfax was posted also came running when they heard her cries for help.
One of the Knights, Greg McFadden, summoned the police after helping to protect Fairfax. However, the woman was gone by the time they arrived.
This is the second time in just a little over a month that elderly pro-lifers have been attacked as they’ve peacefully protested outside an abortion centers in the Old Line State.
In late May, two older gentlemen were viciously assaulted outside Planned Parenthood on N. Howard Street in Baltimore, sending one of the men to the hospital.
A fellow pro-lifer told LifeSiteNews at the time that one man’s plate bone in his upper right cheek was “completely fractured” and that he was “bleeding from some unidentified area behind his eye and the bone eye orbit is completely shattered and will have to be replaced with metal.”
At that age, they’re all trouble.
Sorry, but if I see an elderly person getting beaten, I’m steeping in. Violently. Even in LA, Chicago, or NYC where I would probably be arrested. (Of course unlikely since I simply refuse to visit such urban cesspools.)
That’s even if it is outside an abortion clinic (and I’m pro-life).
Now I’m no spring chicken myself, but several decades of martial arts including practical ones I’ve used in real life for self defense comes in handy on occasion.
In spite of the abundance of traffic cameras, the FBI won’t be able to identify the vehicle of the attacker.
I have done a number of can’t I abortion protests. It’s uncanny how rabid some woman are to see an anti-abortion sign. Many will park their car, come out screaming nonsense with both of their middle fingers extended. Sometimes I laugh and say wow, when was your abortion?

I’m quite a bit past my younger days. But I do carry police-grade pepper spray.

Time was it was considered brutish to hit a woman. Well, they want equality, so I assume that extends to a punch in the face when called for. Careful, liberal women, you won’t like how this ends. How that “protester” wasn’t severely pummeled I don’t know. Were there no men present?
Yes, correct. Peace is the absence of opposing views among leftists and government bureaucrats, leaving only a perpetual state of war against the people, and we don’t have F-16’s, just AARP canes and walkers.
Horrible. My husband I lived there for about five years after our marriage. Our sons were born at Takoma Adventist Hospital. I am so glad we moved away.
Good for the 83 year old woman it was in the daytime. Merrick Garland says he can’t find the ones assaulting at night because it’s dark outside.
I used to pack all the time. Well unless I was going out where I might have a drink or two. Simply will not touch a firearm after even one drink.
But I am a firm believer in Gibbs Rule #9: always have a knife. (In close quarters,
a knife can be very effective if you know what you’re doing.)
That really is the direction we’re headed. Disagreement with the Left is “hate speech”, soon to be a “hate crime”.
But wait. It gets worse. It’s not enough to just be neutral. Some Leftists will condemn you for being silent. Your silence is proof of your hate.

Like the university campus with riots, classroom and windows broken and a police car turned upside down and burned-——to keep Ben Shapiro and Ann Coulter from speaking at scheduled appearances on campus. The signs they chanted under said “No Room For Hate On Campus.” Unintentionally funny.
By the way, the president there banned the speeches “because I place above all the safety and security of our students and cannot let them be in danger on this campus.”
