Nolte: Disney+ Expected to Lose $800 Million This Quarter
Breitbart ^ | 7/17/2023 | John Nolte

Posted on 07/17/2023 2:24:04 PM PDT by T.B. Yoits

The floundering Walt Disney Company’s Disney+ streaming service is expected to record a $800 million third-quarter loss.

That’s nearly a billion dollars lost in a single quarter.

I tell ya, Disney’s slow-motion collapse is more entertaining than anything these child predators have created in years.

Apparently, grooming little kids doesn’t pay.

Who knew?

In better news, Disney stock took a dive after it was announced disgraced CEO Bob Iger extended his contract to 2026.

The smart money knows Groomer Bob is not good for business.

Wanna good laugh? The Disney sycophants in the corporate media have been portraying these massive losses as a good thing.

The far-left New York Times back in May:

To understand the forces that have been roiling the biggest media companies, look no further than Disney’s earnings. Streaming economics are improving — considerably so. But not fast enough to offset declines in traditional television, which is in free fall.

Disney said on Wednesday that losses in its streaming business for the most recent quarter totaled $659 million, an improvement from a year earlier (and a vast improvement from the October-to-December period, when losses totaled $1.1 billion). Streaming revenue climbed 12 percent, reflecting a sharp increase in revenue per paid Disney+ subscriber, a metric investors watch closely.

Oh, yeah, what a relief… Losses were only down $659 million. Well, now that those losses appear to have spiked back up to $800 million, we can all look forward to the rewrite. Right? Right?

What a coincidence (not) that the actors and actresses went out on strike just as the studios need to shut down productions that are losing money anyway.

Cancel Disney Plus, Hulu, Netflix, etc. Stop funding this stuff - with paid streaming you fund this stuff whether you watch or not - they don’t need ratings for revenue:

Disney Executives Admit: Of Course We’re Grooming Your Children: Multiple Disney employees admitted their own personal missions to deluge 5- to 9-year-olds with as much of their own sexual ideology as possible.

Disney isn’t just grooming children with radical sexual propaganda — now they’re bragging about it.

On the heels of Florida’s new Parental Rights in Education law, which bars educators from instructing kindergarten through third-grade students about sexual ideology, multiple executives and employees from the Walt Disney Company admitted their own personal missions to deluge 5- to 9-year-olds with as much of their own sexual ideology as possible.

One Disney executive boasted about her “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” and efforts at “adding queerness to” children’s programming, in leaked audio published by investigative journalist Chris Rufo on Tuesday.

“Our leadership over there has been so welcoming to my, like, not-at-all-secret gay agenda,” said Latoya Raveneau, an executive producer for Disney Television Animation. “I was just, wherever I could, just basically adding queerness … No one would stop me and no one was trying to stop me.”

Plenty of Internet buzz that Iger's game plan, now that he's been "extended" to 2026, is to shift the corporate emphasis to streaming during the Writers' and Film Actor's Guild strikes - the idea being to stop the bleeding from their live-action remakes and ride on old content until the smoke clears, and if it doesn't, lean on AI and CGI instead of staff and production crews. Of course, Disney+ does need to actually turn a profit for that to work. "Look, we've slowed the bleeding" isn't going to impress many shareholders.

Equity activists are outraged over the disappearance of ‘white guilt’ that justified DEI’s existence
after Disney, Netflix, Warner Bros, and others lose money, force out their high-paid loser DEI chiefs
The Blaze ^ | July 12, 2023 | Carlos Garcia
Posted on 7/13/2023, 7:57:28 AM by Twotone

EDITED-—Racial equity activists are outraged after several large companies dropped their diversity, equity, and inclusion consultants......after huge company losses.

The outrage was documented in a report from the Los Angeles Times that noted the exits of DEI experts at Disney, Netflix, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Warner Bros’ Discovery.

“I wake up every day trying not to be a cynic, but this is frightening,” Vic Bulluck of the NAACP Hollywood bureau ignorantly stated.

“Hollywood seems to be sending a message that these programs that were designed to (gag) “give more access to African Americans” are no longer needed.”

The report noted that all of the DEI chiefs dismissed were black women.

Business strategist Kim Crayton claimed that she predicted that the corporate support of DEI programs would be short-lived.

“2020 was the year that we were definitely making strides — but there wasn’t any strategy, there wasn’t any plan,” she explained.

“It was a PR moment — corporate blackface,” she added. “I told people at the time: ‘White guilt isn’t going to last.’”

Disney, Netflix, and Warner Bros. Discovery told the Los Angeles Times that these criticisms were inaccurate and that they were still committed to the cause of equity and diversity.

Crayton facetiously went on to say claim that DEI consultants were too busy “having to deal with white people’s feelings” to make any lasting change about inequity.

“If you don’t have the autonomy, the resources or the authority to make changes, it won’t work,” she said speaking in a total vacume, without a scintilla of factual proof. “Many of these women spend the majority of their time “navigating white people’s feelings’ — and you cannot do the work if you have to do that.”

Former NBC Universal diversity chair Paula Madison put her own biased spin on it.

“In many instances, other than receiving humongous salaries, the person in those roles has no power,” Madison explained. “These DEI officers are just treading water — and sometimes they are drowning. These things were never designed to be successful.”

The exasperation of DEI proponents was mirrored by that of LGBTQ activists who complained that corporations had been backing off from their support of the far-left movement during the very lucrative Pride Month.

Democrats aren’t, but Americans are getting tired of all this deviant faggot BS!
Trillions spent on blacks did not work.
Trillions pent on eco-nut climate dreams won’t work
And trillions spent to convert men into women and women into men won’t work.
Get a clue!
Y’all vote for idiocy, this is what you get, broke and
enslavement.
I figured this out when LBJ got elected in 1964.
I was in the third grade.
I’ve watched the USA dig it’s grave since then.

Disney is intentionally being deceptive about comparing their $800M loss to the $1.1B of Q4 in 2022.

When Disney+ launched in November 2019, they offered a discount on a 2-year subscription. The average monthly cost, with the discount, was $3.92 a month. That discount ended in December 2022. Disney then raised their prices and subscribers canceled. To lose $1.1B when a two year promotion ends is one thing. To lose $800M in a regular quarter is another.

Disney's losses would be deeper except they bolstered their bottom line with the layoff of off 7,000 workers to save more than $5B.

Hope they double and then triple down on what they’re doing. The tremendous and costly business failure that will follow should be more entertaining than anything they’re selling now.

It takes a lot of money to launch at such scale. But these losses are staggering considering how much content they own, and the number of subscribers they have. I wonder what their subscriber numbers are, and if they are churning and burning people out - not just those in protest but just those who don’t want to continue their subscriptions because they don’t care for the content.

Personally I like Netflix business model best. They don’t try to string you along by releasing one episode a week trying to get you to stay a subscriber for 3 months in a row. They put it all up and let you binge. The flip side of that is, you run out of content to watch faster and maybe you drop it and don’t come back until months later.

Ultimately though, too many services competing. Disney should have a big advantage given that they own what is it, 8 studios and have 70+ years of content in their vault? Plus ESPN and other stuff. But maybe it’s all just too much money for people, or maybe they are just spending too much to produce content. No wonder the studios are at war with writers and actors right now. They thought they would be raking it in hand over fist. Now they see they have to cut budgets a heck of a lot. Probably should consolidate all their services into one stream, and shutter a bunch of offices. No need for Hulu, Disney and ESPN to be separate subscription services. Just bundle them all, consolidate all their management.
