Winston tastes good, like a cigarette should.
Sicko.
True.
Does your Polara haxe the push button torqueflite? I believe that was the last year Chrysler had it.
The good old days
Yes, 64 was the last year for the push button. Mine is a 500 model, so it has buckets seats and a console shifter.
Even The Flintstone thought so.

Nice! Mine’s not an SS, it’s got a 283 bored out to a 327
The 283 is a great engine, I think the first to achieve 1hp. per c.i. .
Yes, in 1957, a small number of Corvettes and Bel Airs were fuel injected. They were troublesome but it was a great technological achievement at the time. In 1958 an even smaller number of Pontiac Bonnevilles were fuelies. The few times one of them turn up on a Mechum or Barrett Jackson auction the bidding is astronomical to say the least.
The classic car market has gone crazy the past few years. Too bad we didn’t have the foresight to snap up a few 69 Chevy Z28’s or a winged Plymouth Superbird or Dodge Daytona.
When I was a kid my dad had a 59 Impala convertible, with a 348. Nothing short of a Vette could outrun it. He sold it before I was old enough to drive ☹️. About 10yrs ago one turned up on Barrett Jackson, just like the one he had. 3 minutes into the bidding it sold for $105k
Would have been fun to be old enough to drive those late 50’s early 60’s cars as the HP wars started to cook up. The 348, Chevy’s wedge, big block precursor to the 409, Mopar first generation wedge and hemi engines. I’m was a youngster back then, but had older cousins who had those types of cars in the late 60’s and saw and loved those cars growing up. Most cars today have no personality and are hard to wrench on. Glad I got one to tinker with, keeps me out of trouble. We are lucky to be caretakers to a piece of American history.
