I learned to drive in a LUV.

Miss that little truck.

If it wasn’t for the Mustang II, there would be no mustangs made today.

I get your point, but sad.

People still wanted muscle cars.

Now Ford is going electric, subsidized by the Bite me admin., while still making very nice Mustangs and trucks.

Nice.

The Mustang II was much more inline with the original 1965 Mustang.

By 1973, the Pony Car had morphed into a cow. Putting on hundreds of pounds and resembling a Torino more than a real Mustang.

Still a nice car though. I'm not knocking it.

My sister’s BF had a Vega. Got great mileage but burned oil like a whaler.

His motto was “fill ‘er up with oil and check the gas.”

If I recall the V8 Monza had to have the engine pulled to replace some of the spark plugs.

Can you believe how Ford went FUBAR with the Mustang EV? They're cutting prices and still can't sell them.

How about the Chevy Nova? Remember how GM had each of their product lines of this car? Each line took a letter from NOVA. The Omega, the Pontiac Ventura, and the Buick Apollo. Had the Ventura for awhile, and a 73 Apollo with a crappy 6 that got 13 miles to the gallon. Paid $1700 and used it for 10 years. Not bad.

I had a 79 Monza. It was the biggest POS ever made by Detroit. Something was ALWAYS breaking. I was happy when it caught fire and was totaled by insurance.

“Cadillac Cimarron”

Ah yes, a gussied up Chevette. GM is still at it with various products.
Still laugh at a car magazine summing up the wretched Cinnamon:

“Reminded us of a Honda Accord that did not run very well.”

My friend’s dad was a mechanic. I heard the story on the spark plugs. On the Monza, a failed fuel pump required removing the gas tank.

I had the Monza Spider with the standard transmission. Lots of clutch problems, but a sporty little car I used as a teen to commute. My date car was a red 1970 Formula. Loved that car. My heart sank a little when Pontiac closed shop. I’ve had a Tempest, two firebirds, and rented Fieros for weekend debauchery in Milwaukee when I was attending FC “A” school while stationed at Great Mistakes.

Im still driving my mom’s 91 Accord. She used to have people
come up to her all the time and want to know if she wanted
to sell it.

I came back from Nam in 69 after an extended tour and
dreamed about buying a new car all that time
but the banks wouldn’t
make me a loan saying that since I was in the service
I would just loan it to one of my friends and he would
wreck it. I bought a used MGB and never in my life have
I owned a new car. The Accord broke the timing belt at
150,000 miles so had to do some top end work but it’s
still going just fine.
