Re: 10 - what brand chest rig do you carry? HPG makes some nice gear.
Sort of. It isn’t lawful to fire them.
West Yellowstone is a town. The area is Buttermilk creek I think, and outside the park boundary. Unless one is hyper vigilant and uses a chest rig, and is a good shot under pressure . . . Grizzlies are quick, as fast as a 1/4 horse. Grizzlies often attack, that’s . . what they do.
What I’ve noticed is the perennial reporting, it tries to split that baby, and imply that it is always the natural order of things for bears to be fearful of humans by sight alone and run away, and only when they become “food habituated” do they lose their fear of humans. I wouldn’t take that bet.
BlackPoint Tactical. Firearm is Springfield XDM elite in 10mm

Unarmed humans are soft, easy prey. Predators only became wary of humans when they were being shot on sight. Now that they do not have a REASON to fear humans, they don't.
Thanks.
My area is infested. Yes they are only black bears, but when I try to walk the dog and a large sow with cubs is five feet from the door on a regular basis it’s kind of a pain in the ass. This goes on nightly. I tried to get help from ANR but no luck. I talked to the regional game warden and finally convinced him there was a problem. He gave me permission to kill the bears under the following conditions only. They must be a direct threat, I must immediately gut and process the carcass, I must be in possession of at least 25 pounds of ice to ice down the carcass, I have to remove a molar, and immediately call ANR and the game warden. Failure to do so will result in severe criminal charges.
Credit lobbyists and the legislature, then.
Yes, and the implication is that it’s always “our fault”. For some reason we always have to go from one extreme to the other. They were almost completely extirpated, and it’s becoming apparent to some why, now that they have reached a critical mass of numbers. This was predictable and predicted.
Except the narrative has changed, and people are led to believe we can avoid “interactions” by performing certain rituals. It doesn’t work that way.
That’s a long hike, only to be greeted by some Karens. How was the fishing?
Hiking alone. No spray, no gun. 😣

Not a petting zoo, people.
Most “parks” do not allow open or conceal carry, so you must wear a shoulder holster and a light parka to hide it.
Read the this sow had a cub in tow. Reports that the footprint on bear was quite large. She worked at Yellowstone. She must have been aware of inherent danger of hiking alone without spray or firearm.
YES!!! Since 2010.

“Is carry legal in Yellowstone?”
Per Google:
Yes, guns are permitted in Yellowstone National Park
Park visitors are able to openly carry legal handguns, rifles, shotguns and other firearms per a federal law approved by Congress and signed by President Barack Obama in February 2010. Concealed weapons are allowed by state statute.
Thanks for the update. Bozeman, I now see, had to change its policy to align with state law.
I live in the county just four miles North of Rouse and Main St.
