Agreed
Sourpusses here-gonna puss
You can count on it
Like my wife will usually so no immediately before thinking or the more complicated “I don’t care” when asked where to eat or where to go tonite lol
It’s reflexive in late middle age
And this is an older age forum no question of that
Being always negative is a manifestation of avoidance syndrome
(Too much therapy time eh wardaddy ? Lol)
Glad to hear you've gotten something out of Twitter. With all the crap that went on before Musk bought it, it wasn't worth the time of day...at least for me. I figured I'd be banned not long after I joined anyway, so didn't bother. After trying the other social media sites that I mentioned in my previous comment, I just found nothing of interest on them. I also found that being on those sites was taking me away from other things I enjoyed doing.
I'm not much of a socializer to begin with. A long-time divorced mother of two sons in their 50's, I spent 25 years working in NY State's prison system. It sure wasn't the kind of place you'd want to do much socializing in. I know my personality definitely changed from working in the department. You had to be very protective of your personal info, and not be too outgoing. Someone at work once told me I'd been called aloof, but in that kind of setting, you had to be. Been retired almost 20 years. If anything, I've gotten more conservative, and even more set in my ways as the years have gone by. And I have very little patience for nonsense, especially from some of the nitwits that frequent FR. Been here almost 26 years. Can't believe how quickly time has passed.
“I joined Twitter after Musk took over.”
I toughed it out during the Dark Ages when the Hindu Anti-Free Speech imports were in charge there. Their policy of censoring people was blatantly obvious. It’s not perfect but it’s dramatically better since Musk took over.
