The worst thing Musk has done with Twitter is make posts only visible to those with Twitter/X accounts. And some of us have our tweets' timeline embedded on our websites and blogs and now there's only a frame saying "Nothing to see here yet".

Even if embedded timelines are restored, we still won't have tweets' visibility to most of our viewers.

Musk really messed up with Twitter/X this time.

He did that to cut down on the bots scraping twitter.

I would not be surprised if a 1/3 of all requests Twitter was handling before this changer were simply scapers/bots trying to gather raw data for various analytics and ML etc.

By requiring an account, or limiting the number of tweets you can see per day without an account, I am sure Twitter has cut its compute and network demands by a 1/3 or more.
