Hundreds of people have marched at a rally in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin, in support of asylum seekers.

The rally follows a series of protests directed against people seeking asylum being accommodated in Dún Laoghaire and Ballybrack in Dublin.

It was organized by a newly established group, Dún Laoghaire Welcomes, and was supported by trade unions, the IADT students’ union, community groups and political parties.

JFTR, Dún Laoghaire is pronounced “Dun Leary”, and was once spelled that way. It used to be known as Kingstown from 1821 to 1920; the name was changed in honor of King George IV when he visited. The article has an incidental mention of the town being Sinéad O’Connor’s birthplace.

Very obvious that this rally is left-wing astroturfing. Shame on Christy Moore for participating; maybe he needed the drink money?

I also put a strikethrough on “County Dublin” because that county was officially split in four pieces in 1994, namely Dublin City, County Fingal, County South Dublin and County Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, the last being where the aforementioned town is located.

I wonder if I could get put up somewhere for a visit to Ireland on a cheap vacation? I can get a flight there, but food and lodging and transportation might need to be provided. Any idiot Irish protesters willing to step up and help me. LOL

Old slow moving sods and feckin’ morons are all that’s left of natives. Even the Poles and Estonians are upset.

Okay, Texas, since New York doesn’t want the ILLEGALS, maybe Ireland will take them. 🤓

Well, that’s the end of that fair ethnicity. Haven’t had such a radical inflow since the 800’s when the Vikings landed and turned the Black Irish to redheads.
