We just got back from our first-ever cruise. Four of the six in our party got a respiratory virus on the fourth day of seven days. We have common cold symptoms. Our 34 year old daughter lost her voice. I’m sitting here right now feeling really yucky and blah with mild cold symptoms.
RSV and influenza are the most common illnesses caught on cruises, so the use of probenecid for RSV caught my attention. Wiki says that “treatment for RSV is primarily supportive, including oxygen therapy and breathing support (CPAP or nasal high flow oxygen). In cases of severe respiratory failure, intubation and mechanical ventilation may be required.”
Problem solved. Extra meds to use against Covid-1984 that really work!
