The Tenderloin area of SF was always questionable. Didn’t have to slide downhill very far to become the wreck it is today.
“The Tenderloin area of SF was always questionable. True. The area was called “Tenderloine” because the police in the 1930’s were given steaks and told to ignore the crimes. In 1950 Fr. Boedekker started a soup kitchen on 121 Golden Gate Ave in the Tenderloine and continues to serve 3,000 meals daily. Today, the area is full of tents and losers. San Francisco needs more loyal Catholics and less deviants.
