No problem to ask. Most elections these days have 35-45% of registered voters actually vote. It only takes a "simple majority" of those who do vote to elect a person or pass/turn down an initiative.
Doing the math, if 35% vote, all it takes is 18% of all registered voters to be that "simple majority".
That's a minority of voters in my opinion.

I think about 65% of eligible voters cast ballots in the 2020 election, but I know the percentages are much lower in most other elections.
