I certainly have. Right before I was reading your post, I was telling my friend on the phone how I have very little hope for America’s future...as we once thought it was. I told him the same after the election. That was the nail in the coffin for me. But I’ve been demoralized by the events in our country over the last 6 years. Longer than that actually, but things are getting progressively worse by the day since Trump was elected and they went totally unAmerican on him and us and our country’s tenets...like nothing we have ever experienced. It doesn’t help that I’m recovering from, most likely, COVID again. (Effing little rat that caused all this misery in the world needs to be tried for crimes against humanity.) Probably my fourth or fifth time to have it now as I work in a large warehouse and have to be around a multitude of people when at work. That and the personal struggles of everyday life and surviving, it’s making it quite hard to stay positive and upbeat. Everyday I feel like they are tightening the noose just a little bit more.
So I get your sister wanting to believe in this guy. I get people wanting to believe in RFK Jr. We are desperate for someone decent in politics. Someone that’s genuine and who actually believes what they say and believes in the America as it was founded. I’m just more jaded than your sister. I’ve been disappointed too many times. And I’m worn out.
I'm sorry for your despair, but I heard it in my sister's voice tonight too, when she surprised me by talking about her eventual death for the first time I can remember in a very long time. She's mid sixties, but still in good health so that was totally out of the blue for her. People are getting tired of life, sadly. I told her just turn it all off if it just makes you frustrated, there's no true saviors on that boob tube, ESPECIALLY politicians, and just focus on living your life the way God would want you to.
She perked up quite a bit after that, and we turned our discussion towards our favorite online pastors we listen to while working, and old family memories, you know the more important stuff. I think that's the way to go, re-prioritize your life and put the pathetic liars and scammers arguing over DC down low on your priority list more often.

This is so funny because I was just having this discussion with her. I told her EVERY politician will eventually let you down. The more you get to know them, or the more they are in front of the camera, the more it eventually leaks out until you finally realize they are actually a rat too!
I told her the example of Joe Scarborough (Morning Joe) being my congressman at one point in the past. This was the district Matt Gaetz currently supports and the congressmen from there are always hard core extreme right. Scarborough used to run these 30 minute infomercials on TV every night where he just lambasted Bill Clinton, Jesse Jackson, you name it on the left. I went to his events, even stayed late a few times to shake his hand. He had us all FOOLED! Or, he's fooling people NOW.
I learned not only from him, but following others like GW Bush as well, that NONE of these politicians can be trusted. Do NOT fall prey to their spells. You will fell so much better when you break free of your perceived obligations to support them, which only drag you down. Just consider them as nothing more than a TV news anchor on your local TV station. Someone who wants the limelight, who tries to sell you BS someone else gave them half the time or more. If you can do it, I promise you will feel so much better! They are NOTHING but charlatans! The whole lot. Use them for what you can, but never have faith. Thanks.
I feel the same way as you do, totally discouraged and worn out, and I keep hoping that something, anything, will happen to make me feel like we haven’t lost the America that I so loved.
I see Trump’s faults, and do not “idolize” him, but he seems like the only one who is/was fighting for “us” and who is not establishment or looking to feed at the trough. Tried to like Desantis, but it’s just not happening, and the rest of the pack are either sniveling repeats, RINOs, or ciphers.
Was actually going to check out Vivek in more depth, but looks like he’s just another one of the compromised.
