The power to lockdown was in the hands of governors and Trump never once pressured red state governors like Kristy Noem to implement lockdowns.
But one week later Mikey Pence pulled a bait and switch by lowering “two weeks to flatten the curve” and hoisting “thirty days to stop the spread” while scarf lady, FauXi, and DJT looked on approvingly.
When Easter rolled around and people were still going along with the lockdown nonsense, I knew it was going to be bad. I really did think that lots more people would push back hard against being forbidden to worship together at Easter.
Various sources show these seven states (Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming) were not locked down by their governors.

Trump’s instincts were absolutely right on this whole SCHEME. I knew he had finally succumbed to the unrelenting pressure and bull crap when he came out and bad mouthed Sweden for remaining far more open than other EU and Western countries.
He should have TRUSTED HIS INSTINCTS.
Scarf lady had Trump by the balls. He was scared of her. One piercing glance from her and Trump melted into an orange puddle.
The imperial college of london played a big roll early on. Then their model was found to be trash. Too late though.

People that say Trump did everything he could are simply saying that Trump was not an effective president.
