An 8-year-old girl riding a scooter outside her home in Chicago was shot dead Saturday by an aggravated neighbor who had complained about neighborhood kids making noise.
The girl, identified as Sarabi Medina, was on her scooter heading home from an ice cream truck at about 9:40 p.m. when the gunman ran over from his apartment across the street and shot her in the head, WGNTV reported.
The gunman was then tackled by the girl’s father, who witnessed the shooting, according to a witness report obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times.
The gunman was shot above his left eye and his weapon was recovered from the scene.
Police said the girl was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital

I don’t remember ice cream trucks being running through my neighborhood at 9:40pm in the society I grew up in.
I remember an ice cream truck going down my street at about 10PM on Christmas Eve one year. This was in the 70's. Parents were not amused but no one got shot over it.

I recently saw a story about an ice cream truck whose owner was dealing large quantities of drugs from it.
How is this child killer still alive? I would have beat him to death since shooting him didn’t kill him.
When i was 8, streetlights on meant get your behind home. 9:40 at night is past streetlights bring on.
I hear children outside playing every day and evening. It’s a sign of a healthy neighborhood.
There are some truly sick people out there. The jerk who shot this poor child should be executed by the parent with a point blank shot to the head about 5 minutes after his guilty conviction, IMO.

Yeah, that’s a bit late for an 8 yo and an ice cream truck but that’s no excuse for the monster running out and shooting her. But who shot him? Doubt he’s going to recover or recover much since no charges have been filed. Send him on the fast track way down below.
Funny, I searched several different articles on this murder.
They refer to the murderer as “the gunman”. No name, no description.

Wait until he has to deal with the noise in jail/prison.
Maybe he was shot by a third neighbor who was tired of all the gunshot noises.
There’s always something more to these stories that will never be exposed.
Some things are clearly missing from this article. So much doesn’t make sense. When was the perp shot… before or after he the little girl was shot? Ballistic tests need to be conducted on recovered bullets and the gun(s).
That is really bad even for Chicago.
