Sometimes, young males collect them as souvenirs from a night of vigorous passion with the young female. I suspect that if you tried to use them as a handle in a fight, they'd come off.
The word Teen is a dead giveaway. They seem to be drifting back towards the word Youth and sometimes they say Children or Child. If it is someone older they say A Man without checking how they identify which could be a problem later on. After a while we will be discussing the sexual orientation and gender identity of Teens and Youths because that is way more confusing than melanin content. The whole thing about news these days is to say just enough to scare people but not enough to warn them.

The motivation could easily be greed, depraved indifference, jealousy, power-tripping, or many other things.
I disapprove of "hate crime" laws because they were specifically designed as a legal bludgeon for use by racially bigoted politicians.
Husband knew the feral subway rats would jump and possibly kill his entire family. There are thousands upon thousands of videos showing gangs of ferals jumping anyone who dare stand up against the melanated class.

In a former life, I was a high-school teacher. Catholic school ... a wise teacher listens as much as he speaks ... one learns all sorts of things when one establishes trust, shuts up, and listens.

At the time, I was one of the younger ones ... After a few years I left teaching for industry (engineering) because $$$.
I might have another go at it after retiring from industry ... we’ll see.
