Well it could have been all those songs we used to sing on the bus as kids:
Glory Glory Hallelujah
Teacher hit me with a ruler
Shot her with a .44
And she fell to the floor
And she ain’t our teacher no more
I always liked this one, sung in the NYC area:
The girls’ version goes:
We like the boys with a noose around the neck
A knife in the back
And a bullet in the chest
We like the boys with a noose around the neck
Hanging from the Whitestone Bridge
Undressed!
Oddly, we never actually tried to do any of that! Don’t know where the “undressed” part came from, just to make it rhyme I suppose.
We all, boys and girls, sang it with great gusto and if anyone minded, I was never aware of it.
