Exciting. Great crowd. This was Michael Lorenzen's debut (recent trade acquisition) in Philly. I'd say he did well and may become a favorite.
TOPICS: Sports
KEYWORDS: mlb; nohitter; philadelphia; phillies
Love the video of his Mother and wife in the stands.

Congratulations!
But I do understand that last fall, the Phillies became very will acquainted with the concept on a no hitter.

In 1971, Rick Wise pitched a no-hitter for the Phillies, and during the game, also hit TWO home runs.

The Phillies franchise was founded sometime in the late 1800s if I recall correctly. So they’re probably looking at 14 no hitters in approximately a 130 year history.

Three current MLB franchises have never thrown a no-hitter, can you name them? (No cheating!)

Never mind I was looking at teams who have never been no-hit. All teams have at least one no-hitter, the Padres and Mets were the last holdouts, until they finally got theirs in 2019.

Though I'm originally from PA, I'm a part time Marlins fan. I like no-hitters though. Especially unexpected ones.
Ed "No Hit" Halicki for the Giants comes to mind.

The three greatest Phillies pitchers and Hall of Farmers (Grover Cleveland Alexander, Robin Roberts and Steve Carleton) never threw a no-hitter.
