Former NFL star Michael Oher has sued the family popularized by acclaimed 2009 film, The Blind Side, alleging he was tricked into signing a document which made them conservators -- not his adoptive parents -- allowing them to profit off him.
Widespread belief was that Oher was indeed the adopted son of Sean and Leigh Anne Touhy, the latter of whom was played by Sandra Bullock in the Academy Award-winning role.
In 2004, while Oher was aged 18, he signed on to a petition which made them his conservators - and in other words, able to legally act upon business interests in his name.

Well, they should get a “ fair share” of his NFL earnings, then.
He certainly waited long enough to bring it up.
The Tuohys raised him and gave him a good life. They got rewarded for doing what they did. He played football. He got rewarded for doing what he did.
One way or another, I guess he feels he's owed Reparations.
Former NFL star must have blown through all his NFL money. Now he is “suddenly” looking to reach back and grab money that some lawyer thinks he now deserves. Lawyer’s cut 40%???
Sad.
On one hand Michael Oher owes everything to this family. On the other, why would the ‘adoptive parents’ hold out his portion of the movie rights? Must be more to the story. This movie was touted big time by the Christian community when it came out.
Yep...2009 film.
Procrastinate much?.....sheesh. SMH

It would have been fair to give him a cut of the earnings. IMHO
Bingo. He’s blown through all the money no doubt.
Absolutely
Something tells me he’s run out of money and needs a refill.
My thoughts exactly.
Why would Tim McGraw and Sandra Bullock need all that money? :-P
Just like every single other thug in the Nutty Felon League!
How many years was he with them?
I think they took him in when he was already 18. They helped him get through High School and into college. He was born in 1986, started living with them in 2004, went to college in 2005, joined the NFL after college as part of the 2009 Draft.
I’m pretty sure that HS, College, and the NFL would have been impossible goals for him without their intervention. He was severely disadvantaged and they turned that around for him.
No good deed goes unpunished.
No good deed.....
Taking a page out of Colin Kapernick’s book of living with white people.
