They will lecture us, that hurricanes never hit California, and the only reason this could happen is global warming, and we better pass the green new deal, etc. etc. I can hear Ocasio-Cortez now lecturing us on this.

There have been 4 tropical “hurricanes” in CA since 1858. The 1939 hurricane made landfall with 100 MPH gusts and a lot of rain. It is rare but it does happen. Also, we live in PA and I have only seen two hurricanes in my lifetime make landfall.
