Oliver Anthony is the name we know him by. He’s the viral music sensation from Virginia who wrote the overnight hit “Rich Men North of Richmond,” a song that’s struck a chord with the American working man and become an anthem against Washington, D.C. political elites.

By all accounts, Mr. Anthony seems to be a patriotic, Christian young man leading a simple life filled with hard work and faith. He’s transitioned from factory work to outside sales and clearly has a passion and talent for music. Yet, beyond these facts, we don’t know much about Mr. Anthony. That is, until now.

The artist goes by “Oliver,” but that’s not his actual name. He recently took to Facebook to open up about his real identity. He’s shared how this unexpected fame has affected his life, both in thrilling and daunting ways. Oliver has also offered some candid insights into his faith, music, the opportunities coming his way, and his intentions for this sudden success. It’s a captivating tale with some truly unexpected twists and turns.

Here’s a closeup of Christopher’s Facebook post.

After reading that post, many people found themselves loving and supporting him even more. It’s funny how life works — you never know who God might send your way to mend hearts and bring people together.

There used to be a really good Chinese restaurant in Spruce Pine called Beams. It’s abandoned now

It was a destination place for App State students and Blowing Rock swells. Oddly, I never got to eat there.

The whole intention of his song is to warn us that Biden is happening in this country but that no one is paying attention to these dire events. America is rapidly becoming a country unfit for human habitation in spite of calling ourselves the greatest nation on earth. The lights in “the City on the hill”, that were fed by burning fossil fuels, are slowly dimming while depending on solar panel and wind turbine generated energy and will soon go out permanently. The country has forgotten that the very reason America won WWII is that it had access to fossil fuels while their adversaries were in dire need of it. Biden happens.

Maybe he should take some of that money being offered and do something constructive with it.

Just saying. Wasted opportunity. Good man though.

Dang. Just, DANG!

I hope it's for real, and I hope we hear more from this fine, honest gentleman.

He’s bringing into view the REAL divide we’re seeing; it’s not rebublican vs democrat or white vs black. It is elite vs everyman and it’s resonating.

The elites should be quaking in their berkenstocks

Big strings come with the big money.

When you’re out on the road
And feeling quite lost
Consider the burden of fame.

He would need a very smart and honest manager, publicist, lawyer, investment counselor, accountant. No colonel Tom Parker.

I have not heard the song. I am going to make a point to go find it and listen to it now. I love this young man’s story. He speaks for me in more ways than I care to recount here. No I do not suffer from depression but the rest of what he feels yeah I feel that too. Apparently so many of us do. It’s just nice to know that I’m not alone. And now I’m going to go look for that song.

Bill Withers never had a manager. Was his own man with his own music.
