If you keep going past Carmel Highlands into Big Sur, it can be very dangerous to drive.

Is that, perchance, a Person of Color? If so, was he was driving a car rented by his Nana? Or is he a young man of wealth?

Guess they don’t even need rear tags (plates) in California anymore?
Nice the way he leaves the rear of the car sticking out into the lane of traffic

Reminds me when I use to drive a Yellow cab in NYC in the 1990s, one night I pulled onto the Henry Hudson parkway and out of nowhere this Lamborghini or some other kind of exotic car like that pulled from my lane into the next lane doing what seemed to be 200 mph. Everything went into slow motion as if I was expecting to get killed and he went around me and disappear in a blink, just totally disappeared like a rocket. One of those close calls with death, if I was just a little bit slower he wouldn’t have had enough time to pull around me. I would imagine being hit as that speed would have pretty much vaporized the taxi and me.

Lots of fun ... did it myself back in 67. TVR Griffith 289. On the way to Nepenthe for a burger and ice tea. On way back, would stop and Monterey wharf for an iced margarita.

His Lamborghini does 100.

My Maserati does 185.

Somebody had to say it...

While I am not sure about this, it looks like it was a small section of road where a normal car might not be able to pass easily but the road it was mostly a passing zone.

Even in my car which might take a second or probably two longer than the Lambo it might even be safe for me.

the cops were looking for an excuse to show the rich city boys how it works in the country

If you have driven one of these, (especially you are the owner and used to it) I have driven, but know a few owners. These cars are very capable of doing amazing stuff in the right conditions if you have been driving the car for a long time and are used to depressing throttle around corners (never lift, or you can spin)

It's "Car Week" in Monterey and today, Aug 19, is the Day Before the Big Day. The Big Show is the Concours d'Elegance in Carmel. Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of exotic cars descend on the Monterey Peninsula. Lots of car auctions to go spend your money on, too.

For all of us mere mortals, you can attend "CONCOURS D'LEMONS," an ugly oil stain on the Monterey and Pebble Beach Auto Week. It ended a couple hours ago, though.

It's like a Disneyland for grown-ups! Here are today's events:

MECUM AUTO AUCTIONS: MUSCLE CARS & MORE
ROLEX MONTEREY MOTORSPORTS REUNION
CONCORSO ITALIANO
PEBBLE BEACH RETROAUTO
RM SOTHEBY’S MONTEREY. Their flagship Monterey sale, held during the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance week, continues to raise the bar for collector car auctions year after year.
PEBBLE BEACH CLASSIC CAR FORUM
MONTEREY MOTORSPORTS FESTIVAL
EXOTICS ON BROADWAY, Seaside
ANNUAL FERRARI OWNERS CLUB GATHERING
GOODING & COMPANY'S PEBBLE BEACH AUCTION

The Big Daddy is tomorrow, Aug 20:
PEBBLE BEACH CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE

My son and I went a few years back and it was fantastic. We got to Ocean Ave in Carmel very early on Sunday for breakfast and watched the huge parade of cars after they had completed their run down the coast to Big Sur.
