Here's Where Climate Change Could Cause Credit Downgrades

The U.S. and other countries could see their credit ratings tumble in the wake of climate change’s impacts, making their debts harder to pay off.

That’s according to research by Patrycja Klusak, a researcher at Cambridge, and a team of scientists who used AI to calculate the likely impact of climate change on the finances of 109 countries around the world.

By 2100, under a “business as usual” scenario where greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise at the rate they have in recent years, the U.S. credit rating could fall 4.6 notches.

Klusak’s model has already been adopted by several European banks in evaluating the financial risks posed by climate change, she said.

The good news, from a financial point of view, is that if countries meet their emissions goals set out by the Paris Agreement of 2015, the impact to national credit ratings would be minimal, according to the study.

Used AI. Another form of modeling. It’s all the climate hysterics have.

We’ve passed through scientific absurdity, past craziness and now into insanity. If the consequences of the Great Hoax were not so dire, this would actually be funny.

I would like to see a comparison
The impact of climate change, of temperature, sea levels
v
The impact of money spent in the name of climate change but was wasted and not used to impact climate change, just climate change voters.

Climate change was the excuse for doubling the price of energy, of moving goods to market, of crippling the housing industry. Climate change was the excuse for the recovery act sending us into general inflation beyond the energy sector. Did it have any impact at all on climate?

We’ve passed through scientific absurdity, past craziness and now into insanity.

Have some sympathy, when it's your job to write a story about the 'end of the world' each and every day, its gets harder and harder to be creative.

They'd written about every conceivable possible scenario many years ago. Now there's simply nothing plausible left to write about. But at least fiction writers have full employment.

I think they have a contest every day to see who can write the most absurd mind numbing drivel. The winner gets a meat based banana.

Untainted AI should point to innovative solutions that don’t require repression. But the #ing Rats will encode AI to hate humanity and further the NGOs malicious desires for tyrannical control.

I appreciate the elucidation from a distinguished long-time Freeper. These young fabelists do deserve our understanding and sympathy. As you say, they have a tough job.

Who cares about year 2100 when AOC says we have only seven and a half years left? LOL

AOC in Jan 2019 saying we have 12 years left

The AI of today can be taught to be woke and lie to you. If you dont like its results, then just toss the data. After working in the field with it, its crystal clear.
