Despite experiencing the famed ' midnight sun ' and other seasonal phenomena confirming the earth's round shape, Alaskans proved to be the most curious about 'Flat Earth' theories, typing in 23,040 flat earth searches last year alone, or 314.33 searches per 10,000 residents

As many as 10 percent of Americans still believe the earth is flat, according to a 2021 survey

The earth is spherical. Period.

That said, the article and depictions denigrate the flat-earthers view, to the point of being just as rabidly radical and unbelievable.

If I understand the FE'ers point, the "flat earth" has the "north pole" at the center, and is surrounded by an ice wall (Antarctica).

The FE'ers cannot explain to my satisfaction things like the Foucault pendulum, coriolis, eclipses. Plus, can't be entirely flat, anyways, otherwise there would be no night.

But, to say FE'ers are nutz while using a ridiculous FE map that no FE would recognize is just an agenda-based article.

See the earth is flat ... somebody even got a picture..

but on a more serious note...
I have run elevation and topo on miles and miles of lake front for development surveys. I have never seen a curve.
I'm not saying the earth is flat ... it's big ... but how far would I have to run a level before I see the curve?
I have even thought of just starting on a beach some where and running till I see it. Has any one done that?

And while we are on fringe questions ...
if I take a picture on earth with the moon behind me , it's a little ball in the sky .. right?
If I take a picture on the moon with the earth behind me, shouldn't it take up most of the sky behind me?
Some things just seem a bit out of wack .... I'm sure it's just me, but sometimes it makes me wonder?

Establishment types believe stuff even more idiotic than a flat earth.
They believe in transgenderism, same-sex marriage, covid19 vaccines are good, climate controlled by a trace atmospheric gas, electric vehicles are better than gas-powered vehicles, the 2020 election wasn’t rigged, and on and on and on and ...

“As many as 10 percent of Americans still believe the earth is flat, according to a 2021 survey”

Interesting but probably not surprising.

Nobody really believes in the flat earth idea. Those that pretend to are usually “taking the piss” as the British say. Just being intentionally obtuse for fun. The sad ones are the ones who argue with them because they need to feel smarter than somebody.
