Unless you are right on the coast, I would vote to hang tough and ride it out.
If the storm causes damage, looters will show up and I am not prepared to allow that to happen at my house.

In March, I bought 2 single family rentals in Jacksonville. I live in Colorado. Last night, I discovered that my phone is automatically registered to the hurricane tracking center / energency alerts through the insurance agency. Should be interesting...

Head NW and find a place to stay for a few days. Power outages
will be significant I'd assume within a 100 mile or so range from
the eye of the storm. It can take time to get it all back into full
operation. Make sure you have necessities like food/gasoline/meds
to last a few days.
