The FBI and its history of entrapment

@KanekoaTheGreat

In 2012, Judge Napolitano reported that 17 out of 20 terrorist plots thwarted by the FBI were actually "planned, plotted, controlled, and carried out by the federal government itself."

"The feds found young Muslim men. Loners who were bitter at America. They befriended them, cajoled them, and persuaded them...

In all of these cases, agents worked undercover and portrayed themselves to the targets as Arabs of like un-American mind.

In some cases, the feds used third parties to act as middlemen.

The third parties were typically persons who had been convicted of crimes and who, in return for leniency at their own sentencings, were willing to work with the same feds who prosecuted them to help them entrap whomever else those feds were pursuing...

None of this keeps us safe. All of this makes us less free, as any of us can be entrapped.

We are fools if we praise the government for exposing a plot of its own creation and saving us from a danger that never existed..."

Why do we pay the government to trick us into believing it is keeping us safe?

I saw a C-SPAN book special a while ago with a guy who wrote book about how they were doing this after 9/11 i.e. fitting up mentally retarded people as "terrorists" and then getting them 30-year sentences, etc.

I think I tried to raise it a few times (before Jan 6) and there was NO sympathy among fellow conservatives who generally backed the FBI despite the entrapment for terror offences

Hannity was/is a big lover of the FBI for example and generally conservatives 'back the blue'

But is that changing now after Whitmer and Jan 6?

I think it could be...

Some Freepers now tell me the FBI should be shut down or made to become just a national lab of some kind and that’s it...

Back in the day when the History Channel had actual documentaries, they had a long and thorough episode about the first WTC bombing.
All set up by thr feds...

I can only imagine.

Unlimited budget, agents drunk on power, floating the constitution.

Always been a bit suspect of them...

The FBI is a joke for investigators. They have to frame people for crimes because they suck at finding real criminals.

They were doing this in the 60s and 70s.

An example was a small group that wasn’t violent but an aggressive new member kept pushing the bombing idea on them and took over leadership, was also the only one who knew how to go about finding explosives, and he was also the one to plan the bombing and run the operation.

I have often thought that entrapment was legally weird. And I don’t understand how entrapment cases hold up in court. It seems like it’s a bit of the rip-off used cars salesman routine, you fool somebody into buying something that they probably wouldn’t buy if they had all the information and then they’re stuck with a used car in the FBI cases they’re called with Federal sentencing.

I’m certain there are instances where entrapment might be a good thing just to get somebody off the street that is really doing a lot of legal damage and has impacted numerous victims.

But entrapment for entrapment’s sake I think could probably fall under a type of causative “victim of circumstances” - but I’m no legal scholar.

Why do we pay the government to trick us into believing it is keeping us safe?

Why don't you ask Kevin McCarthy and his stable of RINOs that question.

Have you forgotten about the FBI National Crime Lab scandal(s) of the ‘80s?

Caught faking their results.

No one was ever punished that I can recall.

Who knows how many were rail roaded.

It isn’t “entrapment for entrapment sake”, it is entrapment for MORE GOVERNMENT FUNDS AND GREATER AUTHORITY!

These alphabet agencies are no longer, if they ever were, designed to HELP AMERICA/AMERICANS! They are designed to stay in existence and they do that by showing “what they can do”!!

So a little entrapment to show they took 17 “terrorists” off the streets looks good on paper, it is praised in the Halls of Congress, and our congress critters go on TV, especially during the political season (voting years), and espouse how they want to give these “heroes” more money and more authority to end this scourge known as “terrorism”!! See “war on drugs” for similar examples!

It’s the new “Underground Railroad.” FBI works underground, civilians get railroaded.

I was stationed in Japan on the mainland and was in the barracks catching up on the news back in the States.

I sat... dumbfounded... as I watched Waco burn. What was I serving? What was I fighting for? Is THIS the government I swore to uphold orders from?

Since then... My opinion has only gotten worse. The FBI and BATFE are wholly criminal organization operating so far outside any possible Constitutional mandate that there can be no “fixing” of these agencies.

I've spoken about this many times. .gov has been doing this for years, the so called right never cared as long as it wasn't their boys.

The so called right is the best at building government to destroy. They had no problem creating DHS and doing other nonsense to create the prison we live in. You can never trust a republican or democrat. Nobody funds the police state better than republicans.

That is the very book I saw the CSPAN show about I think.

Yes. I raised it too but no one cared.

However, times are changing...
