Sounds like he F’ed around and found out. He got got.
It seems two or more idiots at a sporting event had a conflict that ended very badly. Unfortunately, those specific idiots are not alone; there are others.
Me? I'm one who can take or leave sports. I enjoy watching a good sporting contest, particularly during playoffs. But I'm unlikely to stop on a baseball game if I'm channel surfing. I expect the overwhelming majority of sports fans are with me in some sort of middle ground position.
So I cannot help but wonder what is wrong with so many people. No, not the sports fanatics; that one is reasonably obvious. I'm wondering why so many take a story like this and relish using it as a hammer to pummel others who enjoy sports. What is wrong with you that you desperately need to point out that you think your choice of avoiding sports is oh so superior to that of someone else? Mind you, I'm not defending the idiots, but they are a small minority of those who enjoy sports.
If you don't like BBQ don't eat it. If you don't like cigars then don't smoke them. If bourbon doesn't taste good to you don't drink it. But I would appreciate it if you would avoid lecturing me on all of the well known issues of such things just because your superior self avoids them.
Now please excuse me. Since this is America, I have pulled pork, Makers and a Padrone waiting ... and a game is on.
Here if you want to see it in slo-mo.
But devout fans do believe they have some control by cheering for their teem from the stands or at home or in a bar or at an at home watch party. Fans think they can put a little English on the ball for their team. Ya gotta believe! Like at church. They sure do.
And for sure, mass rabid cheering in stadiums can bring down the visiting team.
I like your last sentence! +++++
THAT IS WHY, players get PO’d when people go for the legs. I would rather let them us their upper bodies just like they did from 1960’s until the 2000’s. EVERYTHING is a concussion now. That scam was foisted on us to explain violent people doing violent crimes. Boxers get knocked down, and get up to take more punishment. NFL players with helmets on, go down and take a few weeks off....for getting their bell rung. Loved OG NFL. Hate the new version.
Years ago, My wife and I joined neighbors and took a chartered bus to Jacksonville to see the Jags and Dolphins game.
We had end zone seats but didn’t see much of the action.
About 20 or so Dolphin fans STOOD in front of our group for the whole game.
Many people asked them to “please sit down.” Stadium security asked then told them to sit down and the fans stayed standing. It was a, rare, sold out game so there was no way to remedy the problem.
We left the stadium at the start of the 4th quarter. (thanks Dolphin fans)
Miami is occupied by types that one does not challenge. Rough, profane, slovenly dressed, mean, stupid men that enjoy terrorizing people.
I’ve stopped watching the NFL completely. I can’t name more than a few players.
Sundays are more pleasant now.
They could burn American flags at the 50 yard line at half time and many of these sports fanatics would still watch and throw money at that bull s**t.
People who are serious fans of commercial ball club are morons. They are just money-making entertainment rackets. Jefferson was right about ball games.
Same here with baseball. Used to be able to buy a ticket in the cheap seats and sit back and enjoy the game. Drunks, yes, but relatively good-natured. Last time I went a pack of obnoxious drunks made it unbearable and un-fun. And the seats were not longer cheap.
Yep. No reason for it. Big jail time.
They're getting rid of the cheap seats to add more suites. But in the long run, that'll hurt all sports because you're bringing it out of reach to the average John Doe. I used to be a huge fan. But now I only like football left and I'm mostly a lukewarm fan in that.
😁👍
TV baseball is unwatchable. Pitcher/catcher video game. Don’t see the wide-field shot of defensive plays until the third replay.
Love it on the radio - theater of the mind.
You need to watch Moneyball. A great movie.
The "three true outcomes" in baseball are said to be a home run, a walk or a strikeout due to the fact that none of the three, with the rare exception of an inside-the-park home run or a strikeout with a dropped third strike, involve the defense beyond the pitcher or the catcher.
It wasn't always like that when I was watching baseball growing up. You could bunt. Or steal.
My favorite hit was a very hard line drive that goes for a single or a double. So hard that the shortstop or second basement could get injured. I'll bet they let some go by, rather than maybe get hurt trying to deal with it.
I miss the low-tech days of the single camera angle from in the nosebleed seats, with occasional shots of the batter from first or third. And great local announcers.
Anyway, not as many grounders as there used to be. But if you're at the stadium, you'll just buy another beer.
I'll be here all week!
Try the veal! (buh-dump-pish)
