Most bacterial and viral infections are contagious, and different types of pathogens may lead to symptoms of varying severity. Some illnesses may require antibiotics or antiviral treatments, while others may be prevented with the help of vaccinations.
In this article, we take a look at the primary differences between bacterial and viral infections. We explore how these infections are transmitted and treated and what you can do to prevent getting and passing them on.

I'm not pro-vax, just pointing out the differences.
I’m going out on a limb here, but bacterial infections are caused by bacteria and viral infections are caused by viruses.
I’m not a biologist, so I could be wrong.
Yeah but the CDC, wants to put bacteria and viruses in the same group.
One’s from a Bacteria and one’s from a Virus?

Tetanus and Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type B) are two types of bacteria for which we have developed vaccines. Those came to mind right away.
Antibiotics aren’t effective against viruses. A virus needs to run its course if you become infected with it.
If you do get a virus, you can also get an opportunistic bacterial infection from a weakened body.
It’s important not to overuse antibiotics, as resistance can be developed. If you are prescribed an antibiotic, use the full course of the treatment even if you beginning to feel better.
They certainly keep trying to confuse people. It seems they are good at that.
Bacterial infection can respond to things like penicillin.
Viral infection such as common cold does not.

Call me crazy, but I believe that the surviors of the mid- 1300’s plague, ate moldy bread.
I thought it was well known the two are different.

I think they were on to something!
About $2Trillion in profits if it’s viral.
If you die from them there’s no difference.
Uhmmmm....one is a virus, which is really a non-living protein or fat lipids encased genetic pathogen, the other is a bacterium. Examples are Polio or Menigitis , vs. Streptococcus sore throat or Tuberculosis.
Bacteria reproduce on their own each divide and produce more and so on. Viruses takes over your own cells and inject their dna code into your cells and use your cells to produce more viruses and release them as those cells rupture releasing more viruses to infect and take over more of your cells.

But you did stay at a holiday in express, right???
LOL
Don’t remember which is which but one produces clear snot and the other is kind of green. Or not.

To your point, doctors prescribe antibiotics for viruses all the time. $ for big pharma!
