The non-sugar, low-calorie sweetener aspartame — which is found in many sugar-free or “diet” foods and drinks — has been linked to potential problems with memory and learning, according to a study from the Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine.
In the study, which was published in the journal Scientific Reports, male mice that consumed aspartame — even at levels deemed safe by the FDA — had offspring that “demonstrated spatial learning and memory deficits,” a press release from FSU stated.
Over a 16-week period, the researchers studied three groups of mice. One group consumed 15% of the FDA’s maximum recommended intake of daily aspartame per day, which is equivalent to four 8-oz. sodas. A second group consumed 7% of the recommended maximum intake (two 8-oz. sodas daily). A third control group consumed only water.
The mice were tested in mazes at intervals of four weeks, eight weeks and 12 weeks. The ones that drank only water were able to find the “safe” box to escape from the maze much faster than the ones that consumed aspartame, the researchers found.
The aspartame-consuming groups eventually completed the task, but they took “much longer” to do it and sometimes needed extra help, the release said. …

[aspartame]
I’ve always thought it was bad. Horrible taste imparted to whatever “food” it infected........
However, Stevia didn’t work out too well for Lydia, after Walt got ahold of it. Might not have been the Stevia, though...
I also found the taste unappealing from aspartame and Stevia alike. All these fake sugers suck in my opinion and are probably disease catalysts themselves.
I consider them to nearly be poison, frankly
Just taste awful
I like diet food, like Diet pop. Oh well, guess my IQ will deteriorate to 135.
I have been doing my own study on the subject using Diet Coke mixed with an alcohol substance. I have concluded there is a direct correlation between the amount of alcohol added and memory loss. It must be the aspartame.

Now that was a deep dive 😄
Too late. The entire government is already retarded.
I only saw about 3 episodes. Where Gus gets blown up real good.
The one before the ending. And the ending show.
Poor Lydia.......
In other news … A Johns Hopkins research study has conclusively determined laboratory mice cause cancer.
There’s a lot of quirky stuff like Lydia’s demise throughout the series.
Gus should have been blown up for pushing that chair across the floor. What a noise racket he made!

How longs aspartame been around? Its already effected generations, let alone any future ones.
I prefer Monkfruit
Ditto.
This stuff was forced through teh FDA, some politicians got very wealthy from it. This stuff is POISON.
I wonder how much is in my daily “diet drug”—i.e. sugar-free chewing gum.
