‘Africanized honey bees’ are a deadly species that have now invaded N America. Gotta be very careful. There are some do’s and dont’s regarding what to do if attacked by a swarm. The article does not say, but I'm pretty sure they weren't honey bees of any kind. Honey bees don't live in sacks of dirt. Yellow jackets or ground wasps would. Africanized bees get a bad rap. Most honey bees are quite docile. Only time I ever got stung while tending my bees was when trying to reconstruct hives damaged by bears. Aggressive bee hives can be rehabilitated by killing the queen and re queening with a known docile type.

This is what I think, too, but I’m no expert.
