Two freshman House Republicans say their willing to end-run their party’s leadership and working with Democrats to fund the government – as their conference is locked in an internal stalemate threatening to shut down the government.

Reps. Marc Molinaro and Mike Lawler, who both represent New York’s Hudson Valley-area districts that voted for President Joe Biden in 2020, said they’re willing to consider using a “discharge petition” to force votes on a short-term funding bill.

The rarely used legislative maneuver allows lawmakers to force a vote on legislation even if the House speaker doesn’t want to bring it up for a vote.

However, the measure requires signatures from a majority of the chamber and must sit in a committee for at least 30 legislative days – which means it cannot prevent a shutdown at the end of September.

You will never find 2 Democrats willing to side with Republicans on any legislation. Right or wrong, they stick together like glue.

that’s right. I loathe them, but their Party is much stronger than this bag of mush. Republicans have won elections, while at the same time losing our country.

Democrat/Communists will not tolerate any dissent or difference of opinion because they know that totalitarianism cannot be sustained if the members of their cult start thinking for themselves.

A hand full of Republicans have grown tired of winning. They prefer we lose on principle than do what we can with our tiny majority in the House. The Democrats, on the other hand, are totally and completely united. They know what they want. They want to move the deficit from 5 to 6 percent of GDP.

I sometimes think it’s better to vote in the democrat primaries because we have more influence that way, unless of course, democrats are rigging their own primaries. That’s not unheard of.

So. They cut a deal to prevent a shutdown and increase the debt. A few months later the debt has expanded so much the government is back with a new budget to increase the debt.

We have a government spending problem. Shutting down the government doesn’t fix it, it just restarts and makes is worse.

My advice. Line project Veto on the house floor. Any budget that exceeds expected tax revenue automatically kicks in Tariffs across the board on every import. Costs of government overspending gets immediately passed to consumers AND gives advantage for American production because of costs.

We haven’t won much since 2016. Just pass a budget is the basic job. And the idiots can’t do that. It’s going to be a democrat bill that is passed next week because we have a few spoiled brats in the party.

Shutting down the Government would work if they actually shut down the Government.

Democrats blatantly rigged the 2016 presidential primaries when Bernie Sanders was winning popular votes yet still losing because of “superdelegates.”

Exactly. This is why the Democrats can get away with wiping their feet on “Republicans” every morning when they come to their offices up on Capitol Hill. “Republicans” my ***. They are the doormat party.

Two House Republicans considering siding with Democrats to fund the government give aid and comfort to the domestic and foreign enemies of the United States.

There. Fixed it.

The fact that these two are even considering this is a prime example of McCarthy’s complete failure as a leader.

Where is Matt Gaetz and his Motion to Vacate?

Weak leadership is a hallmark of the Republican party, has been that way since the start of the Party.
