Not good but people make mistakes.
Another hypocrite like everyone in DC
I can’t speak for all men, but many men are not affirmed at home and the women thinks her marriage is fine while the man suffers. When that happens, he’s going to be vulnerable to affirmations from the outside.
I’m not excusing him, but I know men are especially vulnerable to outside affirmations because they are often never affirmed during the normal course of their day and that leaves them vulnerable, especially if they are in Washington for weeks at a time and the wife doesn’t take the time to try and love her husband from a distance.
It’s often the same for the woman and the man is not affirming her attractiveness to him.
Agreed
DC is a disgusting place. No secret there.
Only a very strong person of morals can go there and not fall prey to what is considered routine in that place.
There was an article years ago, on Breitbart, about just how bad it was. One of their senior writers detailed going to an event with many members of Congress and some weren’t even shy about it. Hitting on his wife/girlfriend, right in front of him.
I witnessed an episode while working in Iraq with a member of Congress putting his hands on a State Dept staffer. She was not happy. Neither were the guys watching it happen, who were all within 6’ of her, as we were all engaged in a conversation. Most of us were familiar with her as we worked with her often due to her job. And she was considered one of the “cool ones”. Pretty sh*tty stuff. Nothing any of us could do.
And this is bad when we’ve got a “president” who showers with little girls. Give it up RATS. Divorces happen. This is none of your damn business.
Back when I was in high school a quirky teacher told the “Social Studies” class that one definition of “Congress” was “sexual intercourse” and indeed that is one definition of “Congress”.
It takes many routes including the fornication with the lobbyists literal and figurative as well as the fornication of “We The People” with higher out of control spending and so on.
I had a college guy helping me on some work. He said his professor, a well-respected geologist that was head of the department, writing a book, etc. had a fling with a college girl.
Lost his job, book deal, wife and children. Was working a job in data entry somewhere.
Just crazy - all because of sex.
I know how you feel.
Sex and security.
FWIW, I looked at this guy’s voting record.
Jeff Duncan represents South Carolina’s 3rd congressional district.
He’s one of the most conservative members of congress.
He was reelected in 2022 with 97.6 percent of the vote in the general election.
Pretty impressive.
I hate to sound like a jerk but obviously “anything” doesn’t go which is why this adulterer is getting a divorce.
Washington, DC is notorious for breaking up families. Unless they work in your office, you never get to see your spouse or kids, and you’re surrounded by interns and assistants all day. Pols get lonely and you have social climbers. Before all the young women worked there, pols would get drunk all the time to console themselves (alcoholism was an epidemic for both parties). You should only go to DC if you’re single, because it is almost a guarantee it will wreck your marriage.
Why do men do this?
For fun and profit.
Tommy daschle dumped his wife for a lobbyist and then worked from behind the curtains to lease jet airplanes to fuel other jets...from the company his wife was a lobbyist for
The story seems kind of disjointed--he had multiple affairs, he had "at least one" affair, he went and set up house with some paramour and left his wife. . . It sounds like a few different stories.
My guess is that some pro-abortion lobbyist was hoping to flip the seat. But if he pulled 97 percent of the vote in his last general election, that's not likely to happen.
When I was a kid, there were a few stories like this about actors and actresses--getting divorced or remarried. But it wasn't general sleaze-channel stuff.
I don't approve of adultery at all (not an original thought), but I'm not hiring the guy to be my neighbor. We're frankly in a war for our country and our lives. As I recall, General Eisenhower didn't behave himself, chastity-wise, either. They kept him because he was winning the war.
My guess is that pro-abort lobbyists are working 24-hour days trying to find or invent as many adulterous pro-life politicians as possible right about now. The war is on.
Notice you never heard this about commies in the news.
Another hit piece on a Trump Republican?
There should e an investigation to determine if he was persuaded to take the lobbyist’s position because of the affair, if so he must go!
A group of baboons is referred to as a “Congress” of baboons.
Liz Williams, just looked at her picture, not guilty
