The benign interpretation of the ground force movements in Fujian province is that #China is practicing for an invasion. The other explanation is that China is going to war now. We should be getting ready too because #Chinese doctrine is to hit #Japan and us preemptively.

IF they were going to do it would be an opportune time: Senile POTUS— Woke military— Somewhat drained militarily for Ukraine— Open borders—
However why I wonder risk such a move that might actually cause us to pull together?
I do know Chang is usually accurate in his opinions.
It wont pull the country together. The american socialists have balkanized stuff too much, and the chinese men and mexican men streaming across the border will cause a lot of problems until we tzke them down.
China is also working to make the Philippines a vassal nation again.
They missed their chance with Duterte.
He gave them an open invitation to persuade the Filipino public through investments in the country. But Xi never came through, all talk, no money.
In spite of Duterte’s personal popularity, the public never wavered in their anti-Chinese attitude.
Does anyone know if Japan has a deterrent to China aggression besides US Naval and Air power?
Of course they do.
Gonna be awesome.
They are looking at the polls in the US and know they have a small window to act.
Gordon Chang is an idiot. Nothing he has predicted has ever come true.
I don’t know but I would guess that the Japanese could have a working nuclear arsenal in 6 months to a year. They have the rockets for missiles and reactors and facilities to make the warheads.
I don’t think he is an idiot. but he does seem to think the end is near all the time. It is close but who knows how close till the probably war with China?
If China was going to invade, one would probably first see some reshuffling in the upper echelons of the Chinese government. That would get rid of the weak hands and to put in place people who are firmly in favor of the military action. False reasons, like political or moral corruption, would be given for why the replacements were made.
There’s crazy internal power struggles going on in Chicom land.
Xi is not Mao or Deng by a long shot.
There’s an election in Taiwan coming up too and chicoms always try to threaten and scare Taiwanese around election time.
“ If China was going to invade, one would probably first see some reshuffling in the upper echelons of the Chinese government.”
That’s totally happening.
Comrade Xi is no fool. He knows that an attack with his combat inexperienced army of one child soldiers armed with locally produced, untested missiles, planes and ships is not guaranteed success attacking across 90 miles of open ocean. This of course presupposes that the people of Taiwan are willing to fight and sacrifice to defend their freedom and liberties. He knows that if such an invasion fails the political repercussions within China would be immense. Xi, his family and sycophants would be liquidated. Large casualties would create such political unrest that a military coup against “corruption” would be very bloody. The Communist Party infrastructure itself would be decimated. Seeing what happened to Russia, it is highly doubtful Xi, despite some domestic pressure, will order an attack.
Of course:
I agree and I have also heard that the diplomatic handover of Taiwan has already happened. I’m not at all convinced we will see kinetic action. There’s a lot of CCP people disappearing lately.
”I agree and I have also heard that the diplomatic handover of Taiwan has already happened.“
Where’d you hear that?
Ultra-Man?
No, Gundam.
