With the Paris Olympics less than a year away, French authorities want to make sure the bedbugs don't bite during the games and have started a drive to exterminate the pests.
Social media users have been publishing footage of the insects crawling around in high-speed trains and the Paris metro, alongside a rash of online articles about bedbugs in cinemas and even Charles de Gaulle airport.
The reports have reached the highest levels of government.
"The state urgently needs to put an action plan in place against this scourge as France is preparing to welcome the Olympic and Paralympic games in 2024," the capital's deputy mayor, Emmanuel Gregoire, said in a letter to Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne this week.

It is a fungus that kills bedbugs and is non toxic to humans and pets.
Temperature for storage and use needs to be below 80 degrees F.
It has been is use in the US since 2020, but the company I worked for would not use it and instead stole the method name “No Prep”.
The last two Olympics I watched zero of them. Paris will be the same. The games like most spectator sports are dead to me now.
They had bedbugs entirely wi9ped out of the south 48 by the mid fifties and that was too good for them, as was having typhus and malaria all but wiped off the planet. DDT was a legitimate candidate for greatest thing the white man ever invented...

My elderly mom just had an infestation. We had to call in a special exterminator from another state.
She had a nurse that also sat for another elderly couple...and they had them as well. We don’t know if the nurse was carrying them in from her abode.
Awful creatures. They are particularly bad for causing anemia.
