You are, to an extent, correct. Local problems can spin out of control and engulf the whole world. It happened in 1914, as you noted.
But it does not follow that we must intervene everywhere, all the time. That kind of thinking helped bankrupt the Roman Empire. And it helped bankrupt the British Empire.
I suppose we are next.
Anyway, thank you for your polite response. We are obviously far apart on this issue. Yet you responded in a civil manner. That is, unfortunately, not always the case here on Free Republic.

Pursuant to UN Security Council Resolution 1244, they are there as part of a NATO peace keeping force authorized by that resolution.

Yep, and they just may elect a leader ready to put an end to this madness. Also, yes, there are virtually no more non-US weapons in Europe - the psychos there gave them all to Ukraine for disposal. Now Russia could easily roll back in, should they decide to.
The US needs to get the hell out of Serbia. It is not our country and we are not the police of other people’s countries.
