The Senate is supposed to represent the states as a whole, not districts within those states. They were how the individual state legislatures were going to have a voice in the federal government.
The legislatures were going to be the ones who met the high standard to represent them in Washington.
Since the Seventeenth Amendment the election of senators has turned into a high-stakes high drama starring some of the worst actors in American political history.
Repealing the Seventeenth would go a LONG way toward restoring sanity to our government.
And of course, it will never come close to being repealed.
Finding out just how popular she wasn't on election day would really burst her bubble.
