When we look at the battlefield today, we see that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have taken control of all front lines of the war. Kiev’s offensive plans are underway in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk and the critical front lines of Zaporizhia, Dnipro, Kherson.
In Kharkiv, there are failed Russian offensives in the city of Kupyansk and Ukrainian operations to protect the city from fire.
In Luhansk, the Russians are slowly withdrawing volunteer troops from the trenches after losing the main military equipment depot.
In the areas of the islands in the direction of Dnipro, Ukrainians are destroying Russian military bases and command centers, and landing boat groups are forcing Russian forces from the left bank of the river. In Kherson, the Russians have been pushed back to the lines close to Crimea.
In Donetsk, we are still facing a mind-boggling Kiev offensive. Russia is trying to resurrect its old military resources in the Donbass, most notably on the Donetsk lines, in order to block the Ukrainian advance in this region.
Some findings from Moscow’s most trusted military sources about the reappearance of Wagner troops on the battlefield in Ukraine’s Donetsk region have caused quite a stir. The surprise reappearance of Wagner forces in the Ukrainian city provided critical clues as to how Moscow’s offensive plans will take shape in the coming days.
However, in addition to the emergence of these findings, the crash of a plane carrying members of the mercenary group drew attention to this critical moment.
New video has emerged of the moment when a Russian-made transport plane, said to be carrying Wagner mercenaries, skidded off the runway and turned into a huge fireball. Footage of the crash was posted on social media. According to the footage, a massive Russian-made Ilyushin Il-76 transport plane skidded off the runway while landing in Gao, Mali. The plane was kicking up a cloud of dust before turning into a gigantic fireball. Pro-Ukrainian sources on social media claimed that as many as 140 people died in the crash, including Malian soldiers and Wagner fighters. Although the reports have not been confirmed, it is known that Wagner operates in the country and has used the airport in Gao in the past.
On the other hand, the tail number of the transport plane indicates that it belongs to the Belarusian cargo company Rubystar. So Belarus is also implicated in the crash that killed these Wagner soldiers. Sources close to Wagner, including the Gray Zone Telegram channel, denied that the group’s mercenaries were on board the ill-fated flight. The cause of the crash is reportedly under investigation, but it appears that the plane had descended well below the 2,500-meter runway before skidding.
The fiery crash was one of the most sensationalized in a month after Wagner’s billionaire boss Yevgeny Prigozhin was killed when his private jet crashed outside Moscow. In the wake of the plane crash that killed Wagner soldiers, it has emerged that Russia will again use this mercenary group on Ukrainian territory. Anton Yelizarov, the new leader of the Wagner Group, is reportedly in talks with the Russian military about integrating mercenary units into the National Guard. In particular, Yelizarov is allegedly in talks with Rosgvardia about integrating Wagner units into the national guard.
Moreover, the Institute for the Study of War recently revealed that the Russian Defense Ministry is in the process of recruiting former members of the Wagner Group for affiliated private military companies. This critical course of action coincides with ongoing discussions about the potential incorporation of Wagner units into the Russian National Guard, or Rosgvardia.
The findings are based on information from a prominent Russian military blogger who claims that following the failed rebellion led by founder Andrey Troshev, individuals who had previously disassociated themselves from the Wagner Group have now joined PMCs under the Russian Defense Ministry called Redut and the Volunteer Corps. In other words, Russia has once again put into action its plan to deploy Wagner forces in the citadel of war.
Founder Andrey Troshev is allegedly actively recruiting Wagner personnel currently deployed in Belarus, Africa and the Middle East for positions within the PMCs of the Russian Defense Ministry. While these allegations continue to shake the agenda, critical assessments are also coming from Ukraine regarding the presence of Wagner troops on the battlefield. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed information about the presence of units of the Wagner Group in the east of the country.

Today we can already assess this week’s key result for our defense industry. A truly new stage of the Ukrainian defense industry’s development has begun.The first Defense Industries Forum took place. It was extremely successful. And it testified to the global interest in the opportunity to work in Ukraine and with Ukraine in the production of weapons and everything necessary for the real defense of any free nation.
Our new format with defense companies – the Defense Industries Alliance – includes 38 member companies as of this evening. They represent 19 countries. These are the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Canada, Bulgaria, Australia, Belgium, our Baltic friends – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, as well as the Czech Republic, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Spain, Croatia and Finland. This is a very powerful start, and the work is ongoing. More companies will join.
In addition, our manufacturers signed 20 documents with partner companies at the Forum. Agreements and memoranda. Each such document then becomes a new production or an enhancement of existing cooperation.
These are agreements on joint production, exchange of technologies, supply of components. Propellant powder production, munitions manufacturing. This is the training of personnel for our defense industry. Separately, and very thoroughly, we are developing the Ukrainian manufacturing of drones, land and naval autonomous systems.
All in all, more than 250 companies took part in our Defense Industries Forum – and this forum is only the first one of its kind. Dozens of Ukrainian companies were among them.
We are also working to ensure that Ukraine produces the air defense systems we need – truly powerful ones.
When we eventually see and feel the maximum arms power of Ukraine in real action – of our manufacturers, our defense industry, our new cooperation with the world – we will be able to say that the foundation of this was laid right now, in the agreements like those reached at the Forum and during my visits, in particular to the United States, Sweden and other countries. All the most powerful countries are already cooperating or will cooperate with Ukraine.
Our country will become one of the world’s key producers of weapons and defense systems. And this is no longer just an ambition or a prospect, it is a potential that is already being realized. I am grateful to everyone whose work leads to such results for Ukraine!
Currently, and we have to be honest about this, Ukraine is a recipient of security assistance. But our country can and will become a donor of global security. In particular, thanks to our defense industry. Thanks to the strength, resilience, and indomitability of our people.
Tomorrow is a very important day for Ukraine, for all our people. The Day of Defenders of Ukraine. Of the millions who have not only preserved Ukraine’s decent place in human history, but also make sure that our people and our state do not lose their history, fight for their lives and freedom, and inspire the entire free world with their struggle.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva met with a delegation headed by Secretary of State of the Ministry of Defense of Portugal Carlos Pires.
Ihor Zhovkva thanked Portugal for its strong condemnation of Russia’s military aggression and for its assistance in the defense, financial and humanitarian spheres.
Carlos Pires praised the initiative of the Presidential Office to hold the Defense Industries Forum in Kyiv. This format is an impetus for future fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign companies by establishing joint production of weapons, repair of equipment and development of defense technologies.
Ihor Zhovkva thanked Portugal for joining the tank coalition and for supporting the establishment of the aircraft coalition.
The parties also discussed the involvement of Portugal in the implementation of certain points of the Peace Formula.
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office called on Portugal to assist in promoting the Peace Formula in the international arena, in particular by engaging the countries of the Global South.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic Martin Sklenár, who arrived in Kyiv to participate in the First International Defense Industries Forum.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of defense companies from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Türkiye, Sweden and the Czech Republic who arrived in Kyiv to participate in the First International Defense Industries Forum.
The Ukrainian side of the event was also represented by Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, and Deputy Heads of the Presidential Office Roman Mashovets and Andrii Sybiha.
The interlocutors discussed the prospects for partnership and joint arms production, in particular, taking into account Ukraine’s war experience.
“The sky shield and de-mining are the two biggest priorities for us today,” the Head of State stated.
According to the President, this includes both air defense means and the production of systems for warning, surveillance, etc.
“We have to do this. This will be useful not only for Ukraine, but also for Europe and our neighbors,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced.
According to the Head of State, Ukraine is also interested in the production of long-range missiles and artillery with new capabilities.
The President believes that it is the combination of the advanced technologies and military tactics that will help Ukraine win the war against the Russian aggressor.
“That is why we prioritize the development of defense production using modern technologies, production of shells, missiles, drones in Ukraine in cooperation with global leaders in the field and using our experience in their operation. Ukraine has shown the whole world what actually works, and I think we can share this experience,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
As the Head of State emphasized, Ukraine is ready to offer special conditions to companies willing to develop defense production together with our country.
“It will be a mutually beneficial partnership. I think this is a good time and place to create a large military hub,” the President summarized.
