Exactly. The whole country is not on ozempic...they just can’t afford to shop, thanks to “Bidenomics.”

2 reasons:

1. Inflated prices

2. People have less money to spend after paying for gas, electric, etc.

When a pound of edible hamburger ground round which always was a staple of meals in the last recession hit $5, brought a big change to food buying.

When they get food stamps you can tell distribution day. The grocery carts full of hundreds of dollars of beef as you take your pound for the evening meal to the register.

“hamburger ground round which always was a staple of meals in the last recession hit $5”

Ground round is like $10/lb. at my local market.

All the big food/beverage stocks have been tanking lately. I suspect that it has far less to do with diet drugs than with high input/delivery costs (commodities plus oil) and an inflation-squeezed consumer cutting back. Unlike relatively fixed costs like rent/mortgage, cell phone bill, car payments, etc., spending at the grocery store is an area where the typical consumer has the ability to quickly modify and curtail his spending. Everyone has to eat, but you can skip the big bag of Cheetos or the Oscar Mayer bacon and buy something cheaper like a sack of potatoes or a box of the store-brand mac & cheese.

"The media taking everything to new levels of stupid"

Yes, just when you thought their stupidity had reached the non plus ultra.

The Walmart guys say it’s there own Ozempic customers who are now buying less food. Seems like that crowd of geniuses could just buy less food-—maybe drop a few pounds, save the drug money for lottery tickets?

The stupid propagandists will not admit people are having trouble affording food.

What was a $100 basket of food is not a $200 to $250 basket of food.

Yep. If this keeps going, millenials and Gen Z’ers might actually learn to cook!

A couple months ago I made two trays of giant peanut butter cups because I didn’t want to pay the inflated candy prices. I’m probably going to start making my own ice cream too.

this is the stupidiest premise I’ve ever heard...maybe the downturn in people buying chips and pretzels is because of inflation and they can’t afford it...

I don't find that people that are on weight reducing drugs actually are doing something to lose weight, like keto or low carb....

watched recent episode of that show with the morbidly obese people coming to the doc to have bypass surgery....

they had to loose s0 much weight by themselves before he would consider the surgery....

well this one guy got on low carb and over several months lost a couple hundred pounds and decided not to have the surgery since he's has figured out what to do....

Yeah, and that must be leading to less pooping too, because the price of toilet paper has finally started to drop some.

Ice cream is tough to make for less than what you can buy it for unless you are or know a dairy farmer.

Maybe because some people stocked up way too much a few years ago and now not needing to buy so much?
