Ayers and the Obamas would at least occasionally visit with one another while living in the same Chicago neighborhood. Both served on the Board that Ayers led, of the Annenberg Challenge, which received a Chicago school reform grant that was contingent on being matched 2-to-1 by $49.2 million in private donations.
It would not be out of line to suggest that Ayers would later function as Preezy Barry’s de facto spiritual head of his Department of Education.
It’s also not far out of line to suggest a Department of Education of under Ayers would have been, in microcosm, what his later conversations with Grathwohl et al. would expose in macro as the Marxist re-education of the entire US population.
Saul Alinsky was the quintessential Marxist pioneer whom both HRC and Ayers aspired to follow.
