You are suffering from the same problem as most of America or you missed the entire point of my post. You went directly to saying there is an American interest in Ukraine and Israel followed by supporting hundreds of billions of aid, without providing a definition and method to identify an American interest. The definition and method to identify should work for all instances of American interests, whether at home or abroad.

We will keep spending until we are no more.

That much is blatantly obvious by now.

Heck, I’m willing to discuss if anything at all outside of our boundaries is in our interest. Not completely sure where I would end up, but I am starting to think that if you are a citizen, you should be 100% protected within our country, but if you choose to go to some hellhole, we should not spend on penny to rescue you. We can be 100% energy independent. Let the idiots in the mid-east destroy themselves. And no need to pay to have our military all over the world.

Maybe take it in steps. Every year for the next ten years any money going internationally is cut 10% (based on current spending). In ten years you are on your own. Lock ourselves up tight and let the rest of the world police themselves for once.

At least I would entertain that discussion.

All good points.

You have taken it one step too far by creating and stating an interest.

The Constitution lays our a process for admitting new states to the Union, so I just assumed that they implicitly established a national interest in expanding the country under the right conditions.

I said I think there are vital American interests in both, but I didn't spell them out.

I am merely pointing out that insisting on transparency and some fiscal restraint are not contradictory to support for both Ukraine and Israel if other items are cut.

Foreign policy is a responsibility of the Federal government. EBT cards not so much.
