"Our Planet's Core Seems to Be Leaking, And Scientists Think They Know Why" Not clear whether that headline is trying to say scientists think they know why the earth's core is leaking, or they think they know why it seems to be leaking.
Regardless, the hamfistedness of it dissuades me from reading further to solve the headline's mystery.

Meh..happens all the time. Helium comes from radioactive decay as well. Lots of it bubbles up and is trapped in gas reservoirs in the Oklahoma Panhandle area and to the north and south. We had wells that were worth more for the helium than the methane.

They learned this by observing Uranus...

...a pretty good idea where all the helium is coming from...That is the first thing I thought of but they were careful to mention they were using Helium 3. Helium 4 is what an alpha particle is.

All we need is a bit of Fix-A-Flat and we should be just fine.

If the Earth were billions of years old there would be far less Helium. The presence of Helium supports a young earth.
These “scientists” are so tightly wed to the old earth paradigm that they had to make up a bunch of implausible stuff to keep their jobs.

Exactly. Petrochemicals are produced by the Earth and various geologic processes. “Fossil fuels” are not the same as petrochemicals (which are oil, gas, tar, bitumen).
To: John S Mosby
Good post.
You say the “supply is not finite.” That is the common usage. Perhaps it’s a nitpick, but the only alternative I see to finite is infinite. Supplies are finite, not infinite.
It does seem that oil, natural gas, and coal reserves are enormous. I agree with your central point. We have so much, perhaps they are not fossil fuels after all. Regardless, drill baby drill.
