At this point, I expect that every politician says things like this at one point or another, and only the unlucky ones get caught.

IIRC, President Trump set HCQ immediately to UK. Boris refused it.

Johnson and his entire administration should be hanged.

And now they have a non-Brit WOG as their PM.

Actually, I think that song was performed by Spirit, in 1970.

One melodic, and wistful song that King Crimson did do was called “I Talk To The Wind” from 1969.
I’ve always loved that tune. It sounds like a private thought. The flutes (Ian McDonald) carry the song.
I never did get used to that album cover.
Well done, but very gloomy and worrisome.

Not to distract from the topic at hand but I have always wondered

Why isn’t it someone should be hanged instead of someone should be hung?

That’s pretty callous.

I think the past tense verb “Hanged” has for the most part, only one specific meaning in American english.
Hanged means to have been to be fitted with a noose and then suspended, leading to death by strangulation. This was something done quite often in the early decades of our country. It became almost a slang term or shorthand for the deed.

Hung, or something having been hung usually refers to something not human that has been put in place.
The one exception being when someone’s body parts display that quality.

Probably wouldn’t have helped him any more than it helped Trump, who was hospitalized and treated with monoclonal antibodies and oxygen when his SpO2 reached 86%. MABs for COVID weren’t yet available when Boris was sick. For most of us, COVID was a minor illness (I know people in their 90’s for whom it was like a cold), but for some folks like Trump and Johnson, it was potentially life threatening, with or without HCQ.

BS. I am old (83) and neither covid or the experimental vax (4 jabs) has done me in. If old people exercised regularly like me, they would have better chance to fight disease.

Pneumonia does kill a lot of the elderly.

Colds and bronchitis not so much.

All are forms of COVID.

NONE of you examined the SOURCE. Vallance is ex-GSK. Paired with Chris Whitty, they were Britain's 2-Headed Fauxi. This guy isn't a Torie, he's a screw.

"In March 2020, as the government's Chief Scientific Adviser, Vallance appeared alongside prime minister Boris Johnson and the Chief Medical Officer for England, Chris Whitty, in televised briefings on the COVID-19 pandemic.

In September (2020), it emerged that Vallance owns a deferred bonus of 43,111 shares worth £600,000 in GlaxoSmithKline, a company which is working on developing a COVID vaccine.

This led to claims of a potential conflict of interest, as Vallance could be seen to have a financial interest in pushing for a vaccine-based response to the pandemic whether or not this is objectively the best approach.

Then Health Secretary Matt Hancock denied that this was the case, with a government spokesperson stating that, "Upon his appointment, appropriate steps were taken to manage the Government Chief Scientific Adviser's interests in line with advice provided at the time. The GCSA has no input into contractual and commercial decisions on vaccine procurement which are taken by Ministers following a robust cross-Government approvals regime".

After a televised briefing alongside Johnson and Whitty on 31 October (2020), where a second "lockdown" was introduced for England, Vallance was criticised for showing two slides – projecting hospital admissions and deaths – which were later reissued with worst-case figures revised downward."
